Welcome to the Tobie Lee Foundation Web Site
Our mission is simple: Nurturing Families - From Addiction to Health.
The Tobie Lee Foundation is dedicated to the helping families to recover from the disease of addiction, as well as the physical, mental, and spiritual maladies resulting from addiction.
For some, that may mean support during treatment and recovery. For others, that may mean assisting with the development of life management skills. And for yet others, that may mean providing resources, information, and assistance in dealing with problems related to AIDS, cancer, hepatitis, and other drug and alcohol related diseases.
One Body - Two Lives: Drinking and drug abuse during pregnancy can cause both physical and mental birth defects. Each year, more than 40,000 babies are born with some degree of alcohol or drug related damage. These innocent infants often are addicted themselves – fetal alcohol syndrome affects 1 to 3 of every thousand infants and can produce physical abnormalities, behavioral problems, learning disabilities, and even mental retardation. In addition, infants born with alcohol or drug related damage create huge costs to society including millions yearly in healthcare costs, special education and they grow, and long term provision for permanent disabilities.
The Tobie Lee Foundation was founded in 2002 to assist in rebuilding families and rebuilding lives. We know that drug addiction and alcoholism are 'family diseases'. We want to help keep families healthy, intact, and vital. But we need your help. Your donation to the Tobie Lee Foundation is used for treatment – detox and rehabilitation – as well as parenting education, AIDS education, cancer and hepatitis education, and supportive services. Your help is desperately needed since public assistance and programs to help addicted families have been drastically cut.
Won't you please help?
